I have just returned from a 5-day holiday in Bordeaux - the Guides are excellent and a great addition to the pleasures of the visit.

Jean-Pierre Renard

Jean-Pierre has been introducing wine enthusiasts to the great wines of Burgundy for over 20 years. He teaches wine appreciation and tasting at the Beaune Centre for Continuing Education, the University of Burgundy and at the "Ecole des Vins de Bourgogne" run by the BIVB (Bureau Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bourgogne), the entity representing the Burgundy wine industry. Jean-Pierre has written the BIVB’s tasting notes for all vintages from 1998 and he is frequently asked to speak on Burgundy wine at conferences and seminars across the world. Today, he is a board member of Vitagora-Vigne & Vin, wine editor of Bourgogne Magazine and sits on the expert panel that advises the European Gustatory Sciences Centre. He has also been asked by television channel France 3 Bourgogne to present a weekly programme on Burgundy vine and wine. He also organises tailor-made, personal visits to Burgundy. Jean-Pierre's talent as a wine taster has long been established. Throughout the years he has formed a vast network of relationships, both personal and professional in the region's wine industry, which makes him a reference when it comes to Burgundy. For more details, view his own website: www.atasteofburgundy.com.
Jean-Pierre speaks English fluently, but please note that some of his contributions to Wine Travel Guides were originally written in French and translated by the editorial team.
