About Wine Travel Guides
Helping wine lovers discover the world's most extraordinary wine regions.
Our Story
Wine Travel Guides was first created in 2007 by Wink Lorch — award-winning wine writer, WSET Diploma holder, and founder of the Association of Wine Educators. Wink's vision was simple: the world needs a trusted, expert-driven resource for wine travel, written by people who have actually walked the vineyards and tasted the wines.
That vision endures. Today, Wine Travel Guides covers over 350 wine regions across 25 countries, from the celebrated appellations of France and Italy to the emerging wine scenes of Greece, Hungary, and beyond. We're building a platform where wine experts — sommeliers, educators, journalists, and passionate travelers — share first-hand knowledge with the global wine travel community.
We believe that wine travel should be accessible to everyone, whether you're planning your first tasting room visit or your twentieth harvest tour. That's why our guides include practical information for all experience levels and budgets.
