About Wink Lorch

Wink Lorch is an award-winning British wine writer, educator, and author with over 40 years of experience in the wine world. She holds a WSET Diploma with Honours and passed the theoretical component of the Master of Wine qualification.

Wink founded the Association of Wine Educators and is a long-standing member of the Circle of Wine Writers. She is a regular contributor to Jancis Robinson's publications, the Oxford Companion to Wine, and Hugh Johnson's Pocket Wine Book.

She is the author of three acclaimed books: "Jura Wine" (Andre Simon Award winner 2014), "Wines of the French Alps: Savoie, Bugey and beyond" (OIV Prize winner 2019), and "Jura Wine Ten Years On" (2024). All three were crowdfunded via Kickstarter and are distributed by the Academie du Vin Library.

Wink divides her time between London and the French Alps, where she leads wine tours in the Jura and Savoie regions. She is the original creator of Wine Travel Guides, which she ran as an online wine tourism resource from 2007 to 2016.
