Weingut Josef Leitz
About
Johannes Leitz inherited a small estate in Rudesheim in 1985 and has transformed it into one of the Rheingau's most critically respected producers. His Rieslings from the famous Berg Kaisersteinfels, Berg Roseneck, and Berg Schlossberg vineyards on the steep Rudesheimer Berg are among Germany's finest — combining intensity with freshness and cut. Leitz also produces an accessible entry-level range that brings the region to new audiences.
Why It's a Hidden Gem
Rudesheim's most exciting modern producer — steep-slope Rieslings from the Rudesheimer Berg that rival the Mosel's best, at typically lower prices.
