One of the Rheingau's most passionate advocates of biodynamic farming, Peter Jakob Kuhn converted the family estate in Oestrich-Winkel to full biodynamics in 2004. The wines — primarily Riesling from the Lenchen, Doosberg, and Mittelberg vineyards — display a purity and wild energy that stands apart from the region's more conventional styles. The estate is a certified Demeter producer and uses only estate-grown yeasts.
