Long Island Vineyard Hotels: Where to Stay on the North Fork

Long Island’s North Fork is the closest serious wine country to New York City — a narrow farm peninsula between Long Island Sound and Peconic Bay, about two hours east of Manhattan, with more than 60 wineries. The moderating water and sandy soils favour Bordeaux-style reds and crisp whites, and a small but real cluster of properties let you actually sleep on or beside a working vineyard.
