Chateau Charmail
About
A small, family-run Cru Bourgeois in the Haut-Medoc commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, Chateau Charmail has been quietly producing some of the appellation's finest wines since the Seze family took over in 1990. The estate farms 24 hectares with traditional methods, making wine of remarkable freshness and drinkability at a fraction of the cost of its more famous Pauillac and Saint-Julien neighbours.
Why It's a Hidden Gem
A Cru Bourgeois hidden in the northern Medoc — Haut-Medoc elegance without the classified-growth price tag, and an unusually warm welcome for visitors.
